Motto LaGuardia Consultants provides Relationship Building Training for
United Technologies - Carrier Corporation Sales Engineers

Bill Motto and Joe LaGuardia (partners in Motto LaGuardia Consultants) recently had the
opportunity to present a seminar on
"Mixing Golf and Business for Success" to 14
future Carrier Corp. Sales Engineers at the Carrier Corp. Educational Training Center in
Syracuse, New York.  The classroom presentation that discussed the history and importance of
golf and its ties to doing business, basic rules and terminology of the game, and proper golf
etiquette was geared towards helping the Sales Engineers explore ways that a golf outing can
be used to help establish positive relationships with customers in a casual golf setting.  The
classroom presentation was followed by a trip to the Links at Erie Village Golf Club where Bill
(a former college golf coach) and Joe conducted a "short game" session (chipping and putting)
for the Sales Engineers.

John Hall - Manager of Sales Engineer Development at United Technologies - Carrier in
Syracuse - was the key person in charge of working with Bill and Joe to set up this training
session.
MLC is looking forward to working with Carrier Corp. (and John) on an expanded
seminars in the near future.

Carrier Corporation is the world leader in air-conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems
and is supplying the majority of air-conditioning equipment for the 2008 Summer Olympics in
China.
One of the new Sales Engineers who participated in this Golf and Business seminar (and who
was one of three participants from China) is the main Carrier sales engineer contact for the
Olympics.
Several of the Sales Engineers from
Carrier Corporation who participated in
the Golf and Business Seminar are
joined by John Hall (third from the left)

Motto LaGuardia Consultants Works with Sheraton Syracuse University
Hotel and Conference Center to Establish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Annual Girls'
Hockey Shootout/Clinic

MLC acted as the primary sports event consultants for the inaugural Sheraton Syracuse
University Hotel Girls' U14-Tier 1 Hockey Shootout and Clinic in 2008.

The3 day event took place at Tennity Ice Pavilion on the Syracuse University campus on
December 27-29, 2008.  Four elite girls' hockey teams ( Syracuse, NY, Kanata/Ontariio,
Canada, Troy/Albany, NY, and Amhert/Buffalo, NY) participated in this event.  Syracuse
University Women's Hockey Head Coach Paul Flanagan conducted an on-ice clinic during the

provided even greater economic impact for the community and for the Sheraton.

on December 27-29, 2010 with 4-14U and 4-12U teams competing at Tennity Ice Pavillion on
the Syracuse University campus and with all particpants, coaches, family, and friends staying at
